Attractions in the surrounding area are La Fondation Cartier, le Cimetiere du Montparnasse, the park Montsouris.

What I said about the apartment and the quartier are very objective: it would be very difficult not to appreciate both enormously. This part of the 14th is a revelation I have to say. It is a real, bourgeois, not bobo, not touristy, neighborhood, with good restaurants, and nice walks - and the bookstore around the corner is wonderful! I have lived in the 16th, 7th, 6th, 11th, and 10th, and occasionally stayed in the 13th and 18th, and I think that Alesia hits the right balance.
Thank you again for your help with the apatment and for contributing to a wonderful stay in Paris.
Thank you also for your kind offer for a discount, I think that the next time in Paris will be during the summer or next year.
Your site is super!

This is an amazing little apartment, very well-kept, charming, full of light and joy that I wholeheartedly recommend. It is great for 1-2 people and possibly a small family, and it has anything you might possible need for a short stay. The living room with its double-hight windows is very relaxing and the small bedroom upstairs is quiet and cozy. The neighborhood is more than convenient, it is thoroughly pleasant, with good small restaurants, shops, food markets, and hidden architectural surprises. Metro, buses, and, at a short walk, the tramway will get you anywhere in Paris, with the extra bonus of staying in non-tourist neighborhood. I had one of my most pleasant stays in Paris - one of dozens short stays over the last 8 years - and since I know the city pretty well having spent a good part of my life there, I can say that both the apartment and the quartier are fantastic! Thank you to cities reference for making my stay and work easy and bright!

Yes, I am enjoying the apartment greatly, it is amazing, it has a light, cheerful energy that got me from the moment I walked in, and is carrying me through! You are lucky to have it! I also love the neighborhood that I had never explored when I lived in Paris, and I am thrilled by the architecture, especially the 20s and 30s buildings around here.
Mikaela was very nice and helpful, and I am very glad I made the decision to get the apartment: thanks!! I will definitely recommend it to any living soul I know who travels to Paris!
Tout va tres bien et j'adore l'appartement et le quartier, super!

Perfect Parisian loft. Is is attraction on it's own. Coming back from long walk through the city to this perfectly located (away from busy hasty downtown street) was a bliss. We felt like Paisans living in Paris. That is what we loved about it. The whole experience was a just amazing.

I'd love to give a good review - everything was perfect and we loved and enjoyed our stay :)

Great place to stay and get a feel for the city. There are narrow stairs to climb, so keep that in mind - but Paris is for walking...so just add the stairs to your total. Enjoy the location, its clean, very comfortable for a family of four - close to a Monoprix, so we saved some money by cooking at home, and we saved a lot of money on transportation, since we were close to all tourist spots. Loved it and recommend it!!!!!

The apartment was wonderful--quiet, and perfect for watching the comings and goings on Moulin Vert. I loved sitting in the window and writing as life went by. We also loved the area. With luck, we can come again sometime.
And my child and I took great pleasure in the paintings, drawing along with them.

Nice apartment in a very nice part of the city. The apartment is small (the kitchen is very small), but everything is functional. I stayed with my wife and two daughters and we were very comfortable. Grocery, bakery, bank, post office, everything you need is within a 1 1/2 block of the apartment. Also, one of the best things about this apartment is that it is 1 block from metro line 4 which is a main metro line. You can get to 75% of the places you will want to go in Paris with 0 to 1 line transfers from line 4.

What an incredible apartment. This place transformed our stay in Paris. We cooked every night (which saved us so much money!) and had such a great time doing it--there is a great supermarket 5 minutes' walk from the apartment, which we went to almost every day. There is also an adorable bakery a few minutes' walk which we treated ourselves to every now and then. It is unbelievably spacious: the ceiling in the main room is incredibly high, with little stairs leading up to the wonderfully cozy bedroom and cute bathroom. It had a delightful view on the street below and the charming building across the way, which has countless little red flowers on picturesque French terraces. It was, overall, one of the best choices we made. We will always remember our stay in Paris because of this wonderful apartment.
Also, Angela, the keyholder, was SO nice and accommodating, making us feel instantly comfortable. And for all internet-lovers, there is free wireless, which is a fantastic plus.
The only con I can possibly imagine that could present a problem to some is the location. It is about a 15 minute metro ride from all the major sites in Paris. If you want to stay in the more touristed center so that you can walk to most of the sites, then this could be problematic, but for us it was exactly what we were looking for. We would sightsee all day and then just return to the apartment in the early evening, so it wasn't problem it all. In fact, it was nice to get out of the crowded hubbub and go home to our quiet neighborhood each day. It really completed the apartment experience to be in a real Parisian neighborhood.
All in all, not a single problem, and I could not recommend it more highly!

INTERNET - good; KITCHEN - dreadful. Tiny, poky and hard to clean.cooking equipment inadequate. Cutlery and crockery are stored in the living room which is VERY inconvenient.; BEDROOM - stuffy, cupboard-like alcove/loft. Too hot. Access to double bed from one side only. Bed linen is coarse and cheap. Owner needs to take a trip to Ikea.<br ; LIVING ROOM - heating is entirely inadequate. Windows are single-glazed only, so we were lucky that our time there was very mild (14 degrees C). Winter visitors would prob spend a lot of extra money on heating because apartment is draughty and badly insulated.; BATHROOM - dreadful. Wall next to bath is rotten and makes showering impossible.Baths only.; LIGHTING throughout apartment was dim and totally inadequate; PUBLIC TRANSPORT ACCESS - excellent
OWNER REPLIES I guess you can't make everybody happy, Rosalind. I wonder how comes you post this six months after your stay and not when prompted, feel free to contact me directly. You are the second Australian disappointed about the place. Please allow me to spend a word about this. Paris is a crowded place, we have nowhere near the space you guys have in your beautiful land. Kitchens are small, bathrooms are small... unless you double your budget or more this is as good as it gets. KITCHEN. The description says 'small' and there are pictures, this is the size we have for kitchens in Paris for apartments of these dimensions. We have bought some more pots, pans, cutlery. Pots and pans are stored in the kitchen, the rest is stored in the living/dining room. At the end of the day this is where you are supposed to eat.; BEDROOM. Stuffy? There is just the bed and the window and a bedside table. Too hot? Didn't you just say the heating was inadequate? Couldn't you just open the window? This is confusing at best. I'm afraid bed linen is IKEA already, not the cheaper ones though. LIVING ROOM. Let me spend a word on the single glaze complaint here, your countryman below was complaining about the sink for example. We are talking about a historical building here. The 4mts high winter balcony in iron and glass built at the end of the 800s has a great value and the mairie of Paris would thankfully sue me if I dared change that with double graze plastic and alluminium windows. The same goes for the sinks and the bath tub, they have been used by Fernand Leger over a century ago, we are talking one of the most important painters in world art history. I beg whoever would rather have silicon and alluminium to just ask me tips before booking, there is plenty of more modern alternatives on Paris Reference website. Rosalind, never we've charged anybody extra money for heating and you are one of them since you used an equivalent of 100 euro in utilities for a total rent cost of 500! You were indeed a winter visitor in January. Why all these contradictions? BATHROOM We have put tiles behind the bath tub and the sink, it is true it used to peel off every 4 to 6 months, but now this is all set. Mind you, there is a shower fix, only it is best used sitting. Rosalind, we both know you created a leakage from the shower to downstairs. We've dared telling you but never charged you anything. A little more attention on your part would have saved us this conversation I think or our silent acceptance of your damages. This is your way to thank us for the trouble. Well... thank you.

RUE DE MOULIN VERT was a PURE DREAM. The moment I entered the flat I could sense the spirit of life in Paris. With a very delicate and special taste all the rooms have been decorated in a sense of purity and excellence. Walking over the old wooden parquet which could tell endless past time stories the huge old window welcomed the bright sun shining in. Turning around the best should unfold upon me. The steps leading to the second floor of the maisonette made me feel like a little queen. A bath room with an old fashioned bath tab was the ultimate hit for a foam bath to come. A peaceful heavenly sleep was guaranteed in the cute sleeping cabinet providing an overview over my most favorite Paris backyards. Last but not least even the toilet had an exciting view to offer, allowing you to observe the pigeons sitting on the chimneys indulging the sun setting.
So THIS FLAT could not be topped by anything for me ..... except the delicious greasy croissants from the bakery at the corner of rue de moulin vert and rue des plantes.... another HEAVEN!!!!!!
I have to admit that this was my first internet booking ever and I am glad to write such a positive feedback today. The services offered by parisreference.com were beyond my expectations and gave me a secure and professional feeling regarding any question appearing. A fast immediate response was guaranteed at any time.
I herewith show my highest respect for the outstanding excellences this homepage is offering. As soon as my next vacation is coming up I know that Paris Reference will make another dream come true for me.

Excellent apartment!!! Suitable for 4 persons! Very confortable, quiet and and very well situated near Alessia metro station. You can also go to the city centre in 10 minutes by bus 38!
Wireless internet connection went excellent!
Angela who is in charge with the apartment is a very pleasant and helpful presence!
Hope to come back soon!

Well located in real Paris, near Alesia Metro Station. Enough room for a couple plus two kids, although kitchen is really small. Very nice and helpful staff.
June 2008 / Finland
Angela was an absolutely delight. Prompt, helpful and so, so sweet and kind. And you I can thank heartily from all help and assistance in our planning. It could not have been better. Angela´s husband picked the key at noon on Monday, so even that went perfectly fine.
We loved the flat. It was tidy, comfortable, full of light, handy for travelling. There was everything we needed and the choice was excellent value for the money. The street was quiet and surroundings very pleasant - this means a lot, as at the airport we met a Finnish family who never slept for three nights due to the traffic and other disturbing noise. We slept happily as little pigs! Found the boulangerie and had the first enjoyment already early in the morning.
August 2007 / Australia
Rather eccentric aparment in an excellent location but the refurbishment leaves much to be desired.
: Odd sanitary arrangements
: Very poor Kitchen
: Shower with no screen, curtain nor means of supporting the shower head
: No water proof wall treatments
: Very difficult stair to negotiate
I doubt we would consider it again in spite of the excellent location
